ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 52-year-old Rolling Meadows man was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Arlington Heights, police said. The collision occurred at about 9:42 p.m. at West Central and New Wilke roads when a 2007 Honda Civic was making a left turn from eastbound Central Road onto northbound New Wilke Road and hit a westbound 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The driver and sole occupant of the Honda, the Rolling Meadows man, was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained a serious head injury, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.

The driver remained in critical condition at Northwest Community Hospital as of Sunday. The driver and occupant in the Jeep, a husband and wife from Rolling Meadows, sustained minor injuries but "none appeared to be incapacitating or life-threatening."

Authorities said the driver of the Honda failed to yield to traffic when he turned left in front of the Jeep. The driver was also impaired, according to the news release.
