2023 Football Schedule Released For Schools In Arlington Heights

Find out who John Hersey and Saint Viator kick off the fall campaign with next month.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — With a little less than four weeks until the first high school football practices begin in Illinois on Aug. 7, the countdown to the fall season is officially underway. A nine-game regular season runs through the end of October, before the postseason culminates with state championship games scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 24-25 at Illinois State University.

In Arlington Heights, fans will especially be keeping tabs on the local teams at John Hersey and Saint Viator.

Tom Nelson returns as the head coach of the varsity John Hersey High School football team, which finished the 2022 season with a 10-1 overall record en route to winning the Mid-Suburban East (5-0 record). This fall, the Huskies will be joined in the league by Buffalo Grove, Prospect (Mount Prospect), Elk Grove (Elk Grove Village), Rolling Meadows and Wheeling.

Dave Archibald returns as the head coach of the varsity Saint Viator High School football team, which finished the 2022 season with a 5-5 overall record in the East Suburban Catholic Conference (2-1 record). This fall, the Lions will be joined in the purple division by Carmel (Mundelein), St. Patrick (Chicago) and Marian (Chicago Heights).
