Amazon Fresh Grocery Store Opening In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — All signs are pointing toward a new grocery store coming to town, literally. Several media outlets are reporting signs went up Wednesday for an Amazon Fresh grocery store opening in the Town & Country Shopping Center.

Additionally, the company's website began posting job listings earlier this week.

"Join the Amazon Fresh team in Arlington Heights. Amazon Fresh is a new grocery store designed from the ground up to offer a seamless grocery shopping experience, whether customers are shopping in store or online," a Tuesday job posting for Kitchen and Prepared Food Zone Leads said.

The website indicates these positions will pay $17.90 with benefits.

Amazon has not officially announced a future opening date for the Arlington Heights store.

Last year, an Amazon Fresh store opened in nearby Schaumburg, the second to open to the public in Illinois. The store opened at the former Babies R Us location at 16 E. Golf Road. It occupies 45,000 square feet.

Daily Herald reported Wednesday crews from the Melrose Park-based sign company Signco were putting up Amazon's green and white signs to the front of a 50,000-square-foot big box space at Arlington Heights and Palatine roads.

Currently, in addition to Schaumburg, there are Amazon Fresh locations in Bloomingdale, Morton Grove, Naperville, North Riverside, Oak Lawn and Westmont.

Typically, Amazon Fresh stores offer a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a range of delicious prepared foods made fresh in store every day —Shoppers at Amazon Fresh locations can shop in-store or online with free, same-day delivery and pick-up available for Amazon Prime members.from fresh-baked bread and made-to-order pizzas, to rotisserie chickens and hot sandwiches like their brisket panini.

The company also promotes its 365 by Whole Foods Market organics brand, along with national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Turano Baking Company, Oberweis Dairy, and Gino's East frozen pizza; regional favorites like Duke's Mayo, Ellenos Yogurt and Boston Chowda; and newer Amazon exclusive brands like Fresh and Cursive.
