College Credits: Arlington Heights Resident Earns U Of I Scholarship

Doty To Receive Inaugural Manning Scholarship At Illinois

William Doty, of Arlington Heights, is set to receive the inaugural Thomas A. Manning Memorial Scholarship from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign during the 2024 History Awards ceremony on April 20. The Rolling Meadows High School graduate is the son of Brad and Lisa Doty. A James Scholar honors student, Doty has been on the dean’s list all of his five semesters at the university. He was inducted into the national history honor society, Phi Alpha Theta, in the spring of 2022. He is currently the publication director of the Undergraduate History Journal and is a member of the history department’s Undergraduate Studies Committee. Doty has a focus on Russian language and culture, earning the Foreign Language and Areas Study Fellowship in Russian from the University.
