University Of Iowa Awards Degrees To Local Students

The University of Iowa awarded nearly 1,700 undergraduate, graduate and professional students degrees at the close of the 2023 fall semester. Thirteen percent of the undergraduates graduated with multiple degrees - a 2 percent increase over a year ago - and, as a group, undergraduates posted a cumulative GPA of 3.22 - another year-over-year increase - during their stay at Iowa. The oldest degree recipient was 72 years ago; the youngest 18. Local Arlington Heights students include:

Squillacioti Named To Trine University Dean's List

Nicolas Squillacioti, of Arlington Heights, a Trine University student, earned Dean's List recognition for the Fall 2023 semester. Squillacioti is majoring in Civil Engineering. To earn Dean's List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.500-3.749.

Threlkeld Makes Fall Dean's List At Grove City College

Adam Threlkeld, a political science major at Grove City College from Arlington Heights, has been named to the Dean's List with Distinction for the Fall 2023 semester. Adam is a 2020 graduate of John Hersey High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Threlkeld, Sr. (Michele) from Arlington Heights. Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84

Jaclyn Hand, of Arlington Heights, was named to the Dean's Honor List at Cedarville University for Fall 2023. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
