Expect Increased Traffic In Arlington Heights For Train Crossing Work

The Mount Prospect crossing will be closed for one week, beginning April 30.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — If you're traveling near Davis Street starting next weekend, expect increased traffic. According to the Village of Arlington Heights, Union Pacific Railroad will be conducting work on the crossing at Central Road and Northwest Highway, in Mount Prospect.

The crossing will be closed for one week, beginning April 30. Traffic will be detoured west, into Arlington Heights along Northwest Highway, to Arlington Heights Road. Increased amounts of traffic are anticipated for the area, including the underpass at Davis Street and the Arthur Avenue and Davis Street intersection, while the detour is in place.

Officials are asking travelers to navigate these areas with extra caution.
