Gas Prices Up Since March In Arlington Heights

The average price of gas in Illinois is currently $4.41, compared to $4.02 one month ago, according to AAA.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Illinois drivers are finding little relief at the gas pump as average prices continue to increase compared to one month ago, according to AAA.

Gas prices in the Chicago area were well above the statewide average of $4.41 on Tuesday, which was $4.02 across Illinois on March 3. In Chicago, the average gas price is $4.82, compared to $4.20 last month. In the metro area, the price is $4.54 per gallon, compared to $4.13 in March.

The increases are especially sharp considering that the average gas price in Illinois was just $3.07 a year ago. The average price in the Chicago metro area this time last year was $3.16.

Nationally, Illinois is well above the average cost of gas, which is currently $4.17 per gallon.

Despite the increasing prices, shopping around in Arlington Heights can lead to some relief at the pump, even if it's minor.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Arlington Heights is selling for $4.49 per gallon at several locations, including at Marathon (3 N. Wilke Road), Mobil (1880 S. Arlington Heights Road) and BP (2250 S. Arlington Heights Road).
