IHSA Football Playoff Brackets: Find Out Who Hersey, Saint Viator Face

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The playoffs are here. On Monday, the Illinois High School Association released the dates and game times for the first round in all eight classes, following the conclusion of the nine-game regular season.

The postseason culminates with state championship games scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 24-25 at Illinois State University.

Locally, John Hersey and Saint Viator have qualified for the postseason with 9-0 and 5–4 records respectively.

For the Huskies, the playoffs kick off at home versus Wheaton-Warrenville South (5-4) in 7A. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday in Arlington Heights.

Heresy, the No. 4 seed in the bracket, had a perfect fall in the Mid-Suburban East. The Tom Nelson-led squad has outscored their opponents, 408-57, this season.

Hersey will be looking to rebound from a second-round upset exit in last season's playoffs versus Batavia.

• Week 6: Hersey 28, Prospect - Mount Prospect, 3 (home in conference game)

For Saint Viator, the postseason begins on the road at Richmond-Burton (7-2) in Class 4A. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday in Richmond.

Saint Viator, the No. 12 seed in the bracket, finished second in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. The Dave Archibald-led squad has outscored their opponents, 245-232, this season.

The Lions will be looking to avenge a first-round exit in last season's playoffs versus Sterling.
