Lucky Bird: Police Reunite Parrot With Owner In Arlington Heights

Officers located and safely retrieved the African gray parrot Wednesday morning from Rec Park.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Miko is one lucky bird thanks to the Arlington Heights Police Department. The 30-year-old African gray parrot was found by officers Wednesday morning at Rec Park. Following a social media post, the bird was reunited with his owner of more than 20 years.

Police said Miko appeared unharmed when they found him and looked like a "beloved household pet." A social media post was sent out by police at 8:51 a.m. with a follow-up sayin that his owner had been found going up at 9:26 a.m.
