New Brunch Spot To Fill Former Eros Restaurant In Arlington Heights

Southern Kitchen was approved for a liquor license at Monday's Arlington Heights Village Board meeting.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Eros Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlour was a popular choice of a recent Patch survey about beloved shuddered businesses in Arlington Heights. While the restaurant closed nearly four years ago, the building it was housed in has remained vacant at 818 East Kensington. That's all about to change.

Southern Kitchen, owned by Frank Georgacopoulos, Steve Fotos and Arry Marinakos, will soon be opening at the former Eros location was approved for a liquor license at Monday's Arlington Heights Village Board meeting.

"We wish you many, many years of great success at this location in our community," Arlington Heights Village President Thomas Hayes said to the owners. "I look forward to joining you for breakfast and lunch sometime soon."

The trio of restaurateurs also own Southern Bells Pancake House, with locations in Barrington, Bedford Park, Carpentersville, Plainfield and Yorkville. The owners told Daily Herald that Southern Kitchen will offer similar fare to those spots with a southern twist. The restaurant is scheduled to open some time after Father's Day.
