Troop 37 Winter Open House Is Monday Feb. 11

Troop 37 is hosting their Winter Open House for Webelos from 7:30-8:30pm 2/11/19 at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Arlington Hts.

The Boy Scouts of Troop 37 are hosting a Winter Open House from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11. This indoor activity will feature fun Scouting skills taught by Troop 37 youth. The event is open to all youth and their parents, with an emphasis on fourth- and fifth-graders who are current members of a Cub Scout pack.

The Winter Open House will be held at St. Peter Lutheran (School Cafeteria), 111 W. Olive, Arlington Heights, 60004. Guests should enter the Bartz Hall Entrance near the playground at the south end of the parking lot, across from the Flag Poles.

Those wishing to participate should RSVP to Mr. Thom Banholzer, Scoutmaster, at [email protected] so the Troop can plan for enough supplies.

Troop 37 has a 75-year history, is sponsored by the St. Peter's Lutheran Laymen's League in Arlington Heights and is open to all boys interested in Scouting. The Troop has earned many honors over the years including recently:
- 2017 Most Eagle Scouts in Northwoods District
- 2016, 2017, 2018 Camp Napowan Honor Troop
- 2019 Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold winner

Troop 37's mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Members of Troop 37 come from several communities, including Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Roselle, Barrington and more.

The troop has outings and activities every month of the year. Recent adventures have included:
- winter camp Klondike Derby at Camp Crown, WI
- canoeing on the Galena River and at Boundary Waters Canoe Area
- bicycling on the historic Wisconsin Elroy-Sparta Trail
- backpack hiking on the Ice Age Trail
- caving at Maquoketa Caves Park
- charter boat fishing on Lake Michigan
- and, camping at Camp Napowan, Rock Cut State Park and more
