BOLINGBROOK, IL — At its Tuesday meeting, the Bolingbrook Village Board approved a proposal for architectural designs and construction documentation for an Animal Control and Care Facility on Canterbury Lane.

The proposal is with Telos Architects, PLLC, and is for $68,500.

Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said the company will provide multiple conceptual designs and documentation. The project will then be bid out.

Alexander-Basta said the Village currently has a facility off of Route 53 and Royce Road.

"The facility is small, we're not able to expand the facility because of its location and flood plain," she said.

Alexander-Basta said the Village has a piece of land next to the Public Works building, and would allow for more space for the Animal Control staff.

"Just an overall larger, accommodating facility," Alexander-Basta said. "Again, this is something that we applied for grant money and received the grant money. So it's kind of a win-win for the Village."
