Woman Set Fire In Men's Bathroom At Grocery Store: Buffalo Grove PD

The Virginia resident was charged with a felony count of arson following the Wednesday incident at Woodman's Food Market.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Virginia woman is facing a felony count of arson and is accused of starting a fire Wednesday night in the men's bathroom at Woodman's Food Market. Kiara Davis, 29, of Norfolk, Virginia, was arrested early Thursday, several hours after the incident.

According to Buffalo Grove police, officers were called to the store at 1550 East Deerfield Parkway at around 10:37 p.m. following a report of a fire being located and extinguished in the men's restroom.

Police found damage to the bathroom stall and surrounding area within the bathroom. While reviewing store security footage, police saw a woman, later identified as Davis, enter the bathroom just prior to the fire being reported.

Davis was scheduled to appear in court Thursday. The felony charge was approved by the Lake County State's Attorney's Office.
