BURR RIDGE, IL – Pleasantdale Elementary School has received a 2023 National Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education, one of 313 public schools to get the nation's highest honor for academic performance, the school district announced Tuesday.

The school was nominated by the state school board and is being recognized as an exemplary high-performing school based on student scores on 2022 state tests in reading, English language arts and math, according to a news release from Pleasantdale School District 107.

To qualify, the school performed in the top 15 percent in the state and in the top 40 percent for each subgroup of students in all three testing areas, the district said.
