BURR RIDGE, IL — If you're planning to be outside for the Fourth of July in Burr Ridge, you need to be prepared for temperatures above 100 degrees. A heat advisory has been issued and is in effect from 12 to 7 p.m. Wednesday for most of Illinois including DuPage County.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures on the Fourth of July will be around 90 degrees, and peak afternoon heat indices will bring that up to near 105 degrees. The combination of heat and humidity will lead to hazardous conditions, particularly for the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions.

The National Weather Service advises to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

THURSDAY: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.
