Burr Ridge Sees 10% Jump In Virus Cases: Stats

Village's mayor says he continues to be optimistic.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge has seen a 10 percent rise in coronavirus cases over the last week. According to county health authorities, the village's caseload numbered 231 as of Sunday, up from 210 a week before.

"I continue to be optimistic in saying that Burr Ridge, at least, has weathered the recent spikes and that we can feel with some confidence that locally the trend is downward...," Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said in his weekly coronavirus statement Friday.

Burr Ridge's pandemic-related deaths have numbered 23, government figures show.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 21.5 coronavirus cases per thousand people. The figure compares to 12.2 in Darien, 13.4 in La Grange Park, 14.2 in Western Springs, 15.3 in Elmhurst, 16.5 in Clarendon Hills, 16.6 in DuPage County, 19.1 in Hinsdale, 21.6 in suburban Cook County and 21.8 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
