Burr Ridge Sees Lowest Virus Case Hike In Months

No new coronavirus deaths are reported in the village.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge saw the lowest percentage increase in new coronavirus cases in months, according to county numbers.

In the last week, the village experienced an increase of 12 cases, for a total of 940, representing a 1.3 percent hike, lower than the previous week's 3 percent.

The virus has infected 8.7 percent of the town's population.

Of local coronavirus victims, the mortality rate is 3.9 percent. In the last week, Burr Ridge saw five more coronavirus deaths, for a total of 36, according to county health agencies. Most of the local deaths have been at nursing homes.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 87.4 coronavirus cases per thousand people, worse than most of its surveyed neighbors. The figure compares to 66.6 in Darien, 66.7 in La Grange Park, 68.6 in Western Springs, 72.8 in Hinsdale, 75.3 in DuPage County, 76.6 in Elmhurst, 79.4 in Clarendon Hills, 83.5 in suburban Cook County and 92.1 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
