Burr Ridge Sees Virus Rate Hikes Of Less Than 1%

The village has experienced no new coronavirus deaths in weeks, according to agency figures.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge continues to see rates of increase for coronavirus cases of less than 1 percent, according to county health agencies.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 987 coronavirus cases since the pandemic's beginning, eight more cases than a week before, or a 0.8 percent hike. The virus has infected 9.2 percent of the town's population.

Of local coronavirus victims, the mortality rate is 3.7 percent. In the last week, Burr Ridge saw no new coronavirus deaths, with the total at 37, according to county health agencies. Most of the local deaths have been at nursing homes.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 91.7 coronavirus cases per thousand people, worse than most of its surveyed neighbors. The figure compares to 69.5 in Darien, 69.8 in La Grange Park, 73.1 in Western Springs, 76.7 in Hinsdale, 78.6 in DuPage County, 79.9 in Elmhurst, 83.6 in Clarendon Hills, 87.2 in suburban Cook County and 97.6 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
