BURR RIDGE, IL — Outdoor dining over the weekend in Burr Ridge was a success, but people should wear facial coverings when getting near others, the village's mayor said Sunday. The village has helped local restaurants by providing tents to make outdoor seating a reality, with the state still banning indoor dining.

"The live music inside the tents at Capri, the Food Court, Eddie Merlot's and Topaz was also well-received, and there was no concert atmosphere as some residents feared," Mayor Gary Grasso said in his daily coronavirus bulletin Sunday.

The village, he said, has added ramps to tent entrances to promote greater safety as people walk in and out.
