BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge's mayor said Monday that the parking of landscaping trucks on village streets was "getting a bit out of hand."

He made a similar statement a year ago, almost to the day.

At a Village Board meeting, Grasso said such trucks seem to be getting longer and bigger and that they are tying up traffic.

"I've seen it on small hills, where there will be lawn trucks on one side and the other side of the street, and cars are trying to wait to get through," the mayor said.

Grasso said he would look into whether it made sense for the village to require landscaping trucks to park in their customers' driveways. That would be better than inconveniencing traffic in general, he said.

As he said last year, Grasso said the problem of landscaping trucks shows what a good community Burr Ridge is, with residents taking care of their yards.

Grasso said his other pet peeve was gas-powered blowers. He said he realized many are working hard and late, but he said people should be able to enjoy their patios in the evening without hearing blowers.
