Margaret Annette Hoffman, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at The Timbers of Shorewood, with her loving family by her side. Margaret was born in Chicago, on December 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalena (nee Masarik) Durina. She attended St Cyril Grade School and graduated from Providence High School in Chicago with the Class of 1949. Margaret was employed as a secretary at Motorola, where she met the love of her life, Ted Hoffman. They got married in 1956 and resided in Morton Grove, IL, where they raised their two children, Danny and Laura.

Margaret was a longtime parishioner of St. Martha in Morton Grove where her beautiful voice could be heard singing in the choir. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and watching all genres of movies. She always looked forward to spending time with family and sharing a Sam Adams.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Laura (Martin) Senior of Plainfield; her four grandchildren, Nathaniel (Lindsey), Jacob, Scott and Taylor Anderson; and one great-grandson on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore (Ted) Hoffman; one son, Daniel Hoffman; and her sisters, Dorothy Prodan and Rosemary “Tootsie” Clarke.

Funeral Services for Margaret Annette Hoffman will be held at 9:15 am, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet IL, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brookforest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
