NASCAR Chicago Street Race: Important Street Closure Information

The race is set to take place on July 1-2 in Grant Park.

CHICAGO (CBS) — As the City of Chicago prepares to host its first-ever NASCAR street race, officials are urging residents and visitors to be aware of significant street closures and safety measures in place.

One of the biggest starts Wednesday at 8 p.m.: Full shutdown of DuSable Lakeshore Drive southbound between Monroe and McFetridge. The northbound lanes will close at 4 a.m. on July 1. (Details of other closures are below.)
