ACROSS ILLINOIS —It only comes but once a year and some people may argue that it's a "made-up holiday," but there is one special day that's set aside for us to celebrate the ones we love the most: our dogs. National Dog Day falls on Aug. 26, 2021, and Patch wants Illinois readers to share photos of their beloved pups to be featured in an upcoming article.

Here's how to get your dog's daguerreotype (just kidding, we need digital images) featured:

1. Send a picture you took of your pet to [email protected]. It must be a photo you took.

2. Include "National Dog Day 2021" in the subject line.

3. Include your pet's name, your name and the following text: "I took this image and I give Patch permission to share it."
