School Calendar For 2024-25 In Evanston: Key Dates To Know

EVANSTON, IL — Back-to-school planning is already underway in Evanston, with calendars now available to help parents prepare for the first day of classes.

The first school days for most students in Evanston are coming up this month, starting during the week of Aug. 18.

In addition to annual federal holidays, here are some of the important dates to get on the calendar ahead of the start of the 2024-25 school year in Evanston's two public school districts:

First Day: Aug. 22, 2024
Parent Teacher Conferences: Week of Oct. 7, 2024
End of First Quarter: Oct. 11, 2024 (No school)
Indigenous Peoples' Day: Oct. 14, 2024
Election Day: Nov. 5, 2024
End of First Trimester: Nov. 15, 2024
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25 through Nov. 29, 2024
Winter Break: Dec. 23, 2024 through Jan. 3, 2025

• Beacon Academy, 1574 Sherman Ave., begins on Aug. 26, has the same Fall break as public schools but goes on its spring break a week later and wraps up final exams on June 4. (Read more)
