Is Your Local High School One of Illinois' 25 Best?

Are your property taxes helping to fund one of the best public high schools in Illinois?

That question might best be answered by the education ranking and review website Niche, which recently released its 2017 list of the state’s best public high schools.

Using data from the U.S. Department of Education and parent/student surveys from its users, Niche issued grades in seven weighted categories: academics (50 percent), culture and diversity (10 percent), health and safety (10 percent), teachers (10 percent), resources and facilities (5 percent), clubs and activities (2.5 percent), and sports (2.5 percent).

Here are the 25 public high schools that topped Niche’s 2017 ranking, along with each school's grade in the various categories.
