31 Illinois sites to take you back to yesteryear

As you look back at the birth of the nation, why not take a look back at historic sites in our state

A whole lot has happened in Illinois’ nearly 200 years as a state (and even before that) at some historically significant places. Illinoisans and other visitors can learn and reflect on the history of the state and its significant ancestors by visiting many of these locations. Check out Reboot Illinois for a quick guide to 31 of the state’s historic sites open to the public, such as the home of President Abraham Lincoln, the Lewis and Clark Historical Site and the McDonald’s Museum. Time for a road trip!

While you’re visiting the historical sites, check out nearby spots to watch Independence Day fireworks at Reboot Illinois.
