DEERFIELD, IL — Three classes from Deerfield High School will be represented at the Illinois High School Association wrestling state tournament. Seniors Aiden Cohen (170 pounds) and Renzo Morgan (138 poounds) will be joined by junior Luke Reddy, Jr. (120 pounds), and sophomore Jordan Rasof (126 pounds) at Champaign's State Farm Center, starting Thursday.

The four qualified last weekend for individual spots in the tournament at sectionals. The Warriors have also qualified for the Dual Team state tournament, which runs from Feb. 24-25 at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.

"All wrestlers competed well and I am proud of each and every one of them," Deerfield wrestling coach Marc Pechter said.

At last weekend's sectional, hosted by Deerfield, Reddy, Rasof and Cohen all finished first, while Morgan was second due to an injury, according to Pechter.

Last month, the Warriors captured their 15th straight CSL North Conference championship.

"This is a great testament to the resiliency of our wrestlers," Pechter said. "There are a lot of obstacles including; illness, injury, skin issues, making weight, and the overall demanding nature of the sport that could have affected the outcome of even one of these meets over the last 15 years."

Last season, the Warriors had seven state qualifiers and finished second as a team at the tournament.
