6 Vehicles Stolen, Burglaries To Cars Reported: Deerfield PD
The crimes, all to unlocked cars with keys inside, occurred during the overnight hours between June 6 and June 16, according to police.
DEERFIELD, IL — Recently, the Deerfield Police Department reported six stolen vehicles and over 12 burglaries to cars between June 6 and June 16. Police said the crimes all had three similarities: they occurred overnight, the vehicles were unlocked, and the stolen vehicle had keys inside.
Suspects were captured on various cameras pulling on door handles of vehicles parked outside, according to a social media post from police. Similar crimes have also been happening in surrounding communities.
"Together we can make Deerfield a less lucrative target for thieves. Deerfield Police make routine patrols throughout the neighborhoods overnight," DPD said.
