DEERFIELD, IL — According to the Deerfield Park District, 85 percent or more of unwanted items end up in landfills, which are filling up fast all around the world. In an effort to help curtail this from happening, the ReUse-A-Rama event is planned 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Sachs Recreation Center, 455 Lake Cook Road.

From the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, here is a list of what's being accepted (link breaks down what's specifically being accepted and what's not being accepted for each category): shoes, textiles, kids items

In addition, books, eyeglasses and hearing aids will be accepted at the event.
