OIL LAMP THEATER takes joy in sharing the artwork of local artists in their lobby. From September 21 – November 13, 2023, a small selection from Dr. Elana Ashley’s largest art show, THE UNVEILING OF THE UNIVERSE AND BEYOND: THE HISTORY AND FUTURE OF HUMANITY, was chosen for display at OIL LAMP THEATER (1723 Glenview Road, Glenview). Dr. Ashley’s original art exhibition of 58 paintings and mixed media began its first showing in April, 2022 at the Winnetka Community House under the sponsorship of The North Shore Art League. For six weeks in May and June, 2022, the artwork moved to the Devonshire Cultural Center in Skokie. During July 13 – September 13, 2022 the Glenview Public Library displayed Dr. Ashley’s art exhibition. Dr. Ashley’s art show was at the Prospect Heights Public Library during the month of April, 2023, and her creative exposition was shown at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg the month of June, 2023.

During the fall season, artwork from Dr. Ashley’s dramatic exhibition THE UNVEILING OF THE UNIVERSE AND BEYOND is on display September 21 – November 13, 2023 in the lobby at OIL LAMP THEATER. At that location, seven works of art focus on the life journey of men and women worldwide throughout history, moving into the present, and questioning about the future of humanity. On the opposite lobby wall, visitors will view three very different works by Dr. Ashley: Fantasy Home of Mr. and Mrs. Francois Araignee, The Floral Kingdom of Animals, and the largest of Ashley’s artwork brought to the theater – Fantasy Creation: Slice of Heaven, Earth and Ocean.

Dr. Ashley welcomes hearing the thoughts, feelings and interpretations of those who have the opportunity to view her artwork at OIL LAMP THEATER.
