Deerfield, IL - Mora Brinkman, a new author from our very own community, just released her debut book, A Little Off. Always On.: A Memoir. In this collection of humorous essays, readers follow Brinkman from ages nine to thirty-nine as she recalls moments in life when she tried to fit in. While funny, the stories offer deeply personal and relatable accounts of moments when she spent too much time prioritizing society's expectations above what made her happy.

Brinkman said, "I was always passionate about storytelling, but storytelling while being so vulnerable was a new experience."

Born and raised in Missouri, Brinkman moved to Deerfield with her husband, David, in 2018. Yet her book describes challenges at every age, including failed attempts at community theater and Presidential Fitness Tests to managing mental health issues and starting a family. These powerful experiences inspired her to share her story in A Little Off. Always On.: A Memoir providing an intimate glimpse into her journey of growth and discovery.
