Deerfield Presents Plans For Summer Roadwork Projects

Village officials announced a public meeting to discuss upcoming street construction projects.

DEERFIELD, IL — Deerfield village officials invited residents to a public meeting to discuss this summer's street construction projects, some of which that have already gotten underway. It will include the reconstruction or rehabilitation of 13 street around town, and village officials are holding a public meeting to provide more details about the projects and ways to minimize any potential inconveniences.

The meeting is scheduled for at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 at Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Rd. There will be maps available showing where and when roadwork is planned.

In its first phase, construction work began with underground utilities. That will be followed by replacement and removal of concrete cubs, sidewalk repairs and rehabilitation and parkway restoration.

Homeowners affected by the roadwork will receive a letter in the mail, and village officials will post regular updates on a project blog.

Deputy Director of Public Works Bob Phillips told the Deerfield Review the most involved part of this summer's project will take place on Oxford Road between Deerfield and Warwick road, where both sewers and curbs will be repairs. He said there would be notes will be hand-posted on residents' front doors and blue door hangers would be used when the water gets shut off.

The following roads will be this year’s project:

  • Bently Court — Spot repair to curb and resurface roadway
  • Bristol Drive — Spot repair to curb and resurface roadway
  • Byron Court north of Longfellow Avenue — Curb replacement and roadway reconstruction
  • Central Avenue from Castlewood Lane to Wilmot Road — Spot repair to curb and resurface roadway
  • Crabtree Lane north of Greenwood Avenue — Install new depressed curb and reconstruct roadway
  • Elmwood Avenue west of Stratford Avenue — Replace all curb and reconstruct roadway
  • Estate Drive west of Pfingsten Road — Spot repair to curb and resurface roadway
  • Kenmore Avenue from Gordon Terrace to Country Lane — Recon
  • Meadow Lane west of Stratford Road — Spot repair and restore areas disturbed by watermain connect
  • Osterman Avenue west of Jonquil Terrace — Replace all curb and reconstruct roadway
  • Oxford Road from Deerfield Road to Warwick Road — Roadway reconstruction and spot repair to curbs
  • Riverside Drive at Estate Drive — Spot repair to curb and reconstruct roadway
  • Somerset Avenue from Forest Avenue to Wayne Avenue — Spot repair to curb and reconstruct roadway
