DEERFIELD, IL — With more than 8,000 cubic yards of leaves collected, the Deerfield Public Works Department registered its largest volume of collection since 2012-2013, according to the Village of Deerfield.

The five-week collection process began on Oct. 30 and ended last week. During the final week, 1,020 cubic yards were collected.

Residents are being advised to use the compost bin provided by LRS for any remaining yard waste at no additional cost. According to the Village, yard waste stickers will be needed for bag service, but yard waste collection season ends on Dec. 15. A sticker is not required for yard waste placed in your compost container.
