Fight With Guard Leads To Jail Arrests: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

Three people were charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer following an incident at the Lake County Jail.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Victor A. Lopez-Merida, 24, of the 1500 block of Turnbull Drive, Round Lake Beach, is accused of driving while license suspended, suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested April 29 at Grand Avenue and Vineyard Drive, Gurnee. He was released following his arrest.
  • Henley J. Dean Michael, 35, of Miami, Florida, is accused of driving while license revoked, improper transportation of cannabis, no insurance, and was arrested April 30 at Lewis and Sunset avenues, Waukegan. He was released following his arrest.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Christopher Montanez, 27, of the 43300 block of N. Catherine Avenue, unincorporated Antioch, is accused of disorderly conduct, and was arrested April 29 in the 43300 block of N. Catherine Avenue, unincorporated Antioch. He was released and assigned a court date of May 29.

THEFT

  • Tyler J. Smith, 27, of the 2000 block of Elim Avenue, Zion, had a warrant for theft, and was arrested April 29 in the 33200 block of Park Street, unincorporated Grayslake. He was released and assigned a court date of May 21.
  • Giselle Jimenez, 26, of the 33300 block of N. Eastwood Road, unincorporated Grayslake, is accused of theft, resisting arrest, and was arrested May 2 at W. Grand Drive and N. Gages Lake Drive, unincorporated Grayslake. She was released and assigned a court date of May 29.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO LAND/PROPERTY

  • Jerry E. Dickens, 54, of the 20700 block of W. Lake Cook Road, Palatine, had a warrant for criminal trespass to land, and was arrested April 30 in the 20200 block of N. Rand Road, Deer Park. He was released and assigned a court date of May 16.
  • Martin W. Kerley, 60, of the 1100 block of W. Rand Road, Palatine, had a warrant for criminal trespass to land, and was arrested May 1 in the 20000 block of N. Rand Road, Deer Park. He was released and assigned a court date of June 13.

VIOLATING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Joseph G. Donohue, 57, of the 37700 block of N. Jeanette Court, unincorporated Spring Grove, had a warrant for violating an order of protection, and was arrested April 30 in the 37700 block of N. Jeanette Court, unincorporated Spring Grove. He was released and assigned a court date of May 13.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • Harrison Norals-Griffin, 37, of the 3400 block of Windhaven Drive, Waukegan, had a warrant for criminal damage to property, and was arrested April 30 in the 3400 block of Windhaven Drive, Waukegan. He was released and assigned a court date of May 13.
  • Brian Finegan, 41, of Denver, Colorado, is accused of criminal damage to state supported property, and was arrested May 1 at the Lake County Jail, where they were being held on other charges. He is due back in court on May 7.
  • Rene Rodriguez, 37, of the 38400 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park, is accused of criminal damage to property, and was arrested May 2 in the 38400 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park. She was released and assigned a court date of June 5.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A PEACE OFFICER

Three people, being held on other charges, are accused of aggravated battery to a correctional officer, and were arrested May 1 at the Lake County Jail. The three arrested are:

  • Carnise Parson, 31, of the 0-100 block of Martin Avenue, Waukegan, due back in court on May 7
  • Alexis Moreno, 26, of the 500 block of Meadow Green Lane, Round Lake, due back in court on May 14
  • Luis Barradas, 23, of the 1500 block of Meadow Brook Drive, Round Lake, due back in court on May 23

BATTERY

  • Isaiah Patton, 18, of the 800 block of New York Street, Waukegan, is accused of battery, and was arrested May 1 at the Lake County Jail. He was released and assigned a court date of May 8.
  • Glenn W. Cardelli, 64, of the 0-100 block of S. Wynstone Drive, North Barrington, is accused of battery, and was arrested May 4 in the 0-100 block of Deverell Drive, North Barrington. He was released and assigned a court date of June 19.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

Steve M. Gawinski, 61, of the 100 block of Prairie View Avenue, Grayslake, had a warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm, and was arrested May 1 in the 38900 block of N. Green Bay Road, Beach Park. He was released and assigned a court date of May 23.

BURGLARY

Martin C. Heydenberg, 62, no permanent address, had a warrant for burglary, obstructing identification, and was arrested May 1 at Winston and Inverrary Lane, unincorporated Deerfield. He was being detained at the Lake County Jail at the time of his arrest and was assigned a court date of May 28.

CONTEMPT OF COURT

Melvin Williams, 61, of the 300 block of N. Pine Avenue, Chicago, had a warrant out of Cook County for contempt of court, and was arrested May 2 at Lewis Avenue and Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. A future court date in Cook County was to be determined at the time of the report.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Mariel Ramirez-Peralta, 30, of the 2600 block of N. Delany Road, Waukegan, had a warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested May 4 in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. She was released and assigned a court date of May 17.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Yaire G. Lemus, 22, of the 1100 block of Hillwood Circle, Round Lake Beach, had a warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested May 4 at Beachview and Sunset drives, Round Lake Beach. They were released and assigned a court date of May 29.
