BANNOCKBURN, Ill. - March 4, 2021 - Bannockburn is described as a hidden gem in the northern suburbs. And one Bannockburn Village Trustee candidate wants to keep it that way.

Bannockburn Village Trustee candidate Glenn Morris knows the importance of maintaining the character of Bannockburn. It is one of the reasons he and his wife moved to the Village.

“For almost 100 years our community has preserved the character and intent of the original settlers,” Morris said. “Bannockburn offers something no other community has and we are proud of the quaintness we have been able to maintain for almost a century.”

According to the Village’s history, the original intent of the Village’s architect was to create a residential community with homes on large lots. These lots within a rural atmosphere would have natural landscapes and open spaces. This is visible still today thanks to Bannockburn residents’ commitment to maintain such character.

Morris is running on a platform to maintain the Village’s character. He believes it is essential to move the community forward while also preserving what sets it apart.

“We cannot allow development that is not a fit to come into our community,” Morris said. “We should consider all new development but make sure it will not negatively affect our community.
We need to protect and preserve the uniqueness of this Village.”

Morris is open to new development within the Village but believes it is important to consider all sides of a development including residents' concerns.
