Rally Cry: Deerfield's Caruso Middle School Renamed For Bulls Star
The one-day name change shows support for Alex Caruso and the Bulls, who face the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of their NBA playoff series.
DEERFIELD, IL — Even though he won't play Wednesday night due to an injury, Alex Caruso still has plenty of backers at Charles J. Caruso Middle School. The Chicago Bulls player is so popular at the Deerfield school, that the school was renamed "Alex Caruso Middle School" for the day.
Caruso, who is in the NBA's concussion protocol program, will not be on the floor when the Bulls travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks in a win-or-go home game. The Bucks hold a 3-1 series lead in the best-of-seven first-round series.
Students and staff wore Bulls gear and sported their favorite headband in support of Caruso and the team. Some also wore bald caps and headbands.

Eric Steckling, director of communications for the district, told Patch the idea was his, but also thanked physical education teacher Dan Spies, principal Timothy Broduer and associate principal Caitlin Lucci.
