DEERFIELD, IL — Another round of layoffs has been announced at Walgreens, this time 145 team members, primarily from the Deerfield company's corporate workforce. A spokesperson for the company confirmed with Patch a Tuesday report from Crain's Chicago Business, who had obtained an internal memo regarding the layoffs.

The spokesperson said Walgreens Boots Alliance, the parent company of Walgreens, has made progress on a $1 billion cost-cutting plan, but it still has "significant cost savings and growth goals to deliver." The layoffs, and roles impacted, come from a range of departments. WBA said it offering the affected employees severance and outplacement services "during this difficult time."
