DEERFIELD, IL — Walgreens customers were taking to social media Tuesday following phone outages across the country. The Deerfield-based company told Patch it was a hardware issue within Verizon's voice network that impacted Walgreens' voice services.

"The issue was fixed and service is operating normally again," Fraser Engerman, senior director of external relations, said via email. "We apologize for any disruption to our customers and patients."
