FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Fire Protection District reported Thursday that one person was found dead after firefighters responded to a home fire, according to a Facebook post by Frankfort FPD. A separate email alert from the Frankfort Police Department at approximately 9:19 a.m. Thursday confirmed the post.

Frankfort FPD got numerous calls at approximately 6:19 a.m. for a home fire in the 11200 block of Patrick Court, according to officials. Firefighters responded and saw a large fire in the rear of the ranch-style house, according to officials.

One person was found dead in the home, according to officials. It is unclear if the person died as a result of the fire or was dead before the fire started. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated, according to officials.
