FRANKFORT, IL — A collision at the intersection of LaGrange Road and Colorado Avenue resulted in minor injuries to a woman driving a Nissan Versa and left a stoplight damaged, according to Frankfort Police Department Deputy Chief Kevin Keegan. The collision occurred at approximately 6:22 p.m. July 28, he said.

Keegan said the driver of the Nissan Versa, Lucia Andalon, of Manteno, was traveling southbound on LaGrange Road when she ran a red light. The second driver, in a Hummer H3, was traveling westbound on Colorado Avenue when that vehicle was struck by the Versa. The Versa then crashed into the stoplight on the northwest corner of the intersection, causing damage to the stoplight there.

Andalon complained of minor injuries and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Keegan said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Andalon was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, Keegan said.
