First Responders Day At Treadfit Frankfort Set For Oct. 28

FRANKFORT, IL — Treadfit Frankfort is scheduled to hold a special appreciation day for first responders, offering free classes throughout the day Friday, Oct. 28.

The public is also invited to the event for refreshments, free raffles and giveaways, said Treadfit Frankfort co-owner Jennifer Zeiger.

Classes are scheduled to take place at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 9 a.m., noon and 4:30 p.m.

"We support all of our first responders," Zeiger said. "We have neighbors, friends, family members who are policemen, firefighters, front-line physicians, nurses. So, we just wanted to show a little appreciation for all the hard work that they put in day after day."

Zeiger and her husband, Fran Zeiger —who are also Frankfort residents — opened Treadfit Frankfort in November 2021. It is located at 9975 W. Lincoln Highway Suite #2.

Treadfit is an interval-based class using a treadmill and strength training designed to utilize the whole body. Zeiger, who is also a certified instructor for Treadfit, described the workout as “high intensity,” but that shouldn’t scare those who are new to the workout because they can go at their own pace.

“Every class is customized, it’s different,” she said. “You could be on the treadmill three times in one class with weight training in between, or you might be on two times. It all depends on how the class is set up. So, it really allows for some variety so no class is ever 100 percent the same.”
