GLEN ELLYN, IL — Voters of the newly redistricted 6th Illinois Congressional District candidates will have the chance to see how the candidates stack up next to each other before the upcoming June primary.

The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn are organizing two Zoom candidate forums. The Republicans will be on deck first, May 3, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Democratic candidates face off May 4, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Constituents in the new IL-06 are encouraged to submit questions to the candidates in advance of both forums, and can be submitted here. Questions should be applicable to all candidates and relevant to the office. A panel of experienced League members review and screen submitted questions for appropriateness to the office and to avoid duplications.

The Illinois gubernatorial primary will take place June 28.

The LWV uses a “candidate forum” format, not a debate format. A forum involves a trained, neutral moderator from outside the district asking questions to candidates for their response. Candidates respond to the questions and do not engage with each other, as this is not a debate format.
