Who is High Tails Animal Rescue, NFP?

High Tails Animal Rescue, NFP is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue and welfare organization. We are both volunteer-run and foster-based serving the Greater Chicagoland area and Northern Suburbs of Illinois. Our organization rescues cats of all breeds and ages and finds them permanent homes while helping the occasional dog. We rescue primarily from animal controls and shelters and assist our established partners with owner abandonment cases and friendly strays.

Not only do we save lives, but we are actively committed to advancing the cause of animal welfare. We strive to be an educational resource for families to promote responsible pet ownership. To achieve our mission, we network amongst fosters, volunteers, rescuers, transports, and pet professionals. Visit our website to learn more.

Is High Tails local?

Yes, it is! I, Lauren Shaw, am a Board Director and a Co-Founder of High Tails. I grew up in Glenview and went to nearby schools such as Glenbrook South High School. I am now attending Marquette University, but in addition to my academics, I assist with the rescue's daily operations and specifically manage all of its social media, marketing, and communication efforts.

High Tails directly serves Glenview and the surrounding suburbs. Moreover, we serve the Greater Chicagoland area including the North Shore. We have volunteers and fosters ranging from downtown Chicago to Lake Forest to even Wauconda.

If you are an avid animal lover, an individual who is passionate about giving back to their community, a nonprofit supporter, or anyone in between, I welcome you to view our website to learn more, donate to our cause, and apply to adopt, foster, or volunteer with us today.
