By vocation, training and dedication I have been a construction guy for more than 30 years. Many of those years were as a US Navy Seabee over nearly 25 years including four combat tours in Desert Storm (1991), Bosnia (2011-2002), Kosovo (2003-2004) and Iraq (2005-2006).

Following my Navy days I became a Construction Executive for Target Corporation. I was honored to lead the teams that built the Target stores at Chicago Division Street (formerly Cabrini-Green), Chicago State Street (Louie B. Sullivan Bldg.; former Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co.) and led the teams that added a grocery store to more than 50 Chicagoland Target stores in 2010.

Due to my lifelong interest in construction and property improvement generally neighbors will come to me and ask about this project or that project.

The other day a neighbor asked me about the Tenant Improvement (aka TI) work happening at Glen Oak Center, the former Boston Market shop (across Lake Street from Lyon School).

It might be hard to believe but another Fish and Seafood Market is coming to Glenview.

Nestled between Harrison's and Reagan will be Wild Fork Meat and Seafood.

Maybe you have noticed the construction happening at the Glen Oak Shopping Center, owned by Regency Centers, where the former Boston Market and Einstein's Bagel were located. Some of our neighbor friends have fretted about a Starbucks drive through at this location. NOPE.
