GLENVIEW, IL — Serving more than 1,000 local families in Glenview, Northbrook and Northfield, the Northfield Township Food Pantry is an essential part of the local community. Unfortunately, like other food pantries, NTFP sees a drop in donations during the summer months as families travel.

In addition, with schools closed, many local children are at risk of missing subsidized breakfast and lunch.

With all this in mind, the Glenview Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Group is starting up its annual community food drive, running in August and September.

"We are so grateful to the Glenview Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Group for making a difference in the lives of so many who are food insecure in our community," said Shiva Mohsenzadseh, Northfield Township supervisor.

Friends and neighbors can contribute food at several business locations across the Village, and public institutions, such as the library. A full list of participating businesses is available on the Chamber's website. The Chamber is asking each participating business to collect five brown grocery bags with items like cereal, pasta, canned veggies and fruits and drop off at the pantry during business hours or in the collections boxes outside the building during non-business hours.
