After being fired, the ex-employee reportedly called the business, using more racial slurs.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Rebecca Yeboah, 31, of the 1400 block of S. Busse Road, Mount Prospect, is accused of aggravated battery, and was arrested at 11:21 a.m. Aug. 12 at the DuPage County courthouse following an investigation into incidents that occurred at Glenview Terrace Nursing Home, 1511 Greenwood Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 11.

RETAIL THEFT

Theresa Norkus, 46, of Chicago, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested Aug. 12 following an investigation into an incident which occurred on May 8 at Dick's Sporting Goods, 1900 Tower Drive. She was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 11.

DISSEMINATION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Nathaniel Sullivan, 22, of the 3800 block of Lizette Lane, is accused of felony dissemination of child pornography, and was arrested at 11 a.m. Aug. 13 following an investigation into a cybertp sent on May 6 by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Sullivan was held for transport to a detention hearing

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • Employees of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported that at 2:53 a.m. Aug. 6, someone took three bales of compacted cardboard recycling material valued at $150 from the east side dock area of the store. The surveillance video shows a white box truck with no markings driving behind the store, with the unknown person wearing a yellow safety vest.
  • A Chicago resident reported at 2:35 p.m. Aug. 6, their registration sticker was taken by someone from their rear license plate while it had been parked in the 1400 block of Lehigh Avenue between 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • A Cove Lane resident reported at 3:25 p.m. Aug. 8, being the victim of attempted credit card fraud. They said during their stay at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Ave during July 2024, someone likely wrote down the credit card information and later attempted fraudulent purchases at Louis Vuitton and Saks fifth Ave ($2,000 each) which were both denied. It was also learned that the sim card was stolen from their Samsung cell phone and was now being actively used in an unknown Apple iPhone. This phone called the credit card companies using their phone number requesting replacement credit cards – the request was not granted.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Pam Anne Drive resident reported on Aug. 8, that between June 28 and July 7, someone made several unauthorized purchases with their Wintrust Bank debit card t the Microsoft Store, Disney Plus, and Prime Video. They are in possession of the card, and they believe the number might have been taken while it at work in Highland Park, since other coworkers had their numbers used fraudulently as well.
  • A Nordica Avenue resident called police at 3:47 p.m. Aug. 9, to report that in January, someone used their personal information to open an account with Verizon Wireless. The victim learned the account was used to purchase multiple cell phones and there was an outstanding bill for $2,467.07 in the victim’s name that had been sent to collections.

DISTURBANCE

  • An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:40 a.m. Aug. 7, two guests were causing a disturbance at the front desk due to seeking compensation for enduring disrupting noises all night from a crying baby in another room. They wanted the corporate phone number, which he was provided, prior to departing the property with a trespass warning.
  • A Des Plaines resident reported at 10:43 p.m. Aug. 8, they were involved in a heated argument with another player at an ice hockey game in the 1800 block of Landwehr Road. No physical contact took place and the player was ejected from the center; they vacated the premise without further incident.

FRAUD

A West Lake Avenue resident called police at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 7, to report two fraudulent checks were generated and deposited with other banking institutions in the amount of $2,400 and $680. The check numbers used were confirmed to still be present in their possession.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A Lombard resident reported that between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 8, someone had keyed their car while it was parked in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road. Some of the marks rubbed off, but some did not, resulting in an estimated damage amount of $150.

BATTERY

A Wilmette resident reported two females stole a cart full of merchandise at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8, in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. When confronted and asked for a receipt, the females replaced some of the merchandise already in their vehicle back into the cart, then fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a burgundy SUV, partial plate of “316.” The total amount of merchandise in the cart was $252.25. No camera footage was available at the time of the report.

TRESPASS WARNING

A security manager for a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 12:16 p.m. Aug. 9, a Chicago resident employed there was terminated for using racial slurs. The former employee later called the business and continued making racial remarks. The business requested the former employee be trespassed from the property. Attempts to reach the employee were unsuccessful. The business was advised to send a certified letter trespassing that person and to call the police if he returns.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A taxi driver reported at 8:09 p.m. Aug. 9, his passenger, a resident of Hanover Park, became upset and started yelling at the driver during the ride and stuck the driver's seat with their hand. The person said they were upset because the driver did not speak English and did not know where they were going.
  • A resident of the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive reported at 9:26 a.m. Aug. 10, a neighbor has been teasing their dogs and causing them to bark excessively and growl from the shared sidewalk when walking by. The resident said they’re not sure what the neighbor is doing, but it is unlike their dogs to bark and growl when people normally walk past. Officers attempted to contact the neighbor, but were unsuccessful.

DRUG OVERDOSE

A resident in the 3600 block of Westerfield Lane called police at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 9, to report they had smoked a "joint" (cannabis cigarette) and had an immediate adverse reaction. They suspected the "joint" may have had another drug mixed in it. The resident was cleared by paramedics but requested to go to the hospital for observations.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 9:06 p.m. Aug. 10, to report a Wheeling resident was unresponsive on a couch. The resident was transported to Glenbrook Hospital for a drug overdose. While at the hospital, a nurse located suspected heroin inside of the patient’s shoe and turned it over to Glenview Police. Officers learned the patient had an active failure to appear warrant, issued by Cook County Sheriff’s Police, for driving under the influence. The patient was admitted to the hospital for treatment related to his drug overdose. CCSPD was contacted about the warrant and they notified their detective bureau.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road reported at 3:02 a.m. Aug. 3, someone with a flashlight inside their vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Officers found the vehicle unoccupied, with the glove box and center console open. A gold bracelet was missing from the vehicle. The vehicle was left unlocked. Total loss is $5,000.
  • Police located a vehicle in the 1600 block of Elmdale Avenue at 3:33 a.m. Aug. 13, with the front passenger door standing open. The glove box and center console were open, with items scattered throughout the front seat.
