Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital (Glenview) and Highland Park Hospital each received an A in the Spring 2023 Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. This national distinction celebrates the hospitals’ achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors. The new grades reflect performance primarily during the height of the pandemic.

“We’re proud of the A grades, but more importantly, it’s an opportunity to recognize the commitment of our team members to the safety of our patients,” says Lakshmi Halasyamani, MD, Chief Clinical Officer, NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst. “Even during the challenges of the pandemic, we were able to meet our vision of safe, seamless and personal care.”

The A grades for Evanston, Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals are the most recent examples of honors, awards and rankings for NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), which also includes Skokie Hospital, Illinois’ only specialty hospital dedicated to orthopaedic and spine care.
