Glenview Clean Energy Fair and EV Show on April 28

If you're interested in ways to promote sustainability in your everyday life and save money, the Clean Energy Fair and EV Show is a must!

Greener Glenview and the Glenview Park District are hosting the Glenview Clean Energy Fair & Electric Vehicle (EV) Show on Sunday, April 28, at the Glenview Park Center West Gym. The community is invited to the fair to learn about the products, services, and financing that can help them take part in the transition to the coming, renewable energy economy.

The Clean Energy Fair will showcase a wide range of electric alternatives for home and transportation. Many local businesses will be present to highlight clean energy products such as induction stoves, heat pumps for HVAC and water heaters, as well as rooftop and community solar. In addition, exhibitors focusing on energy conservation measures including energy audits will be present to explain how conservation can save residents money on their energy bills. Attendees can speak with Glenview residents about their experiences with many of these clean energy products and services in their homes.

Several local non-profits working to address climate change will be at the fair. Representatives will be available to discuss state and federal tax credit programs to help finance purchases, relevant pending legislation, and state-approved providers of community solar services among other things.

The EV Show will take place in the parking lot outside the Glenview Park Center and include a variety of electric vehicles from local car dealers. Attendees can ask questions and learn more about the vehicles and electric bikes. Test drives are not available at the fair. The EV Show will also include EV owners with their cars talking about their experience with “going electric”.

Mary Munday, co-founder of Greener Glenview and an event organizer, said, “This is an important event for our community. Residents are concerned about climate change and are looking for clean energy technologies to incorporate into their daily lives. The fair will help guide them on the journey to a more sustainable future.”
