Glenview Clean Energy Fair & EV Show this Sunday, April 28 @ 1 - 4 PM

Learn how to bring more sustainable solutions into your daily life!

Greener Glenview and the Glenview Park District are hosting the Glenview Clean Energy Fair & Electric Vehicle (EV) Show on Sunday, April 28, at the Glenview Park Center West Gym from 1 to 4 PM. The community is invited to the event to learn about the products, services, and financing that can help them take part in the transition to the coming renewable energy economy.

The Clean Energy Fair will showcase a wide range of electric alternatives for home and transportation. Many local businesses will show and explain sustainability solutions including battery-powered lawn care equipment, battery generators and storage technology (Weiss Ace Hardware, Generac, Current Electrical Contractors), heat pumps for HVAC and water heaters (American Weathermakers, Effective Air), induction stoves, community solar (Solstice Energy, Trajectory Energy), and rooftop solar (Ailey Solar Electric, Inc. and SunPower). Companies in the energy conservation business will explain energy audits and demonstrate how to make their homes more energy efficient, thus reducing their energy needs and costs (Chicago Green Insulation. Green Attic Insulation, Renewal by Andersen). Glenview Cycle will be there to talk about electric bikes. We expect even more businesses to be there on April 28!

Sustainability non-profits in attendance include the Citizens Utility Board, the Illinois Solar Energy Education Association, the Illinois Environmental Council, and Greener Glenview.

The Glenview Art League will feature an “art corner” and invites all attendees to participate in a community art project that focuses on a sustainable future. Deb Anderson, President of the Glenview Art League, said, “We feel like art is a great way to bring the community together and the theme of the Fair, sustainability, is a creative opportunity for everyone to get involved. Be sure to drop by and make some art with us!”

Another unique feature of the Clean Energy Fair is the “neighbor-to-neighbor corner” where residents will share their experiences with a wide range of clean energy solutions including induction stoves, electric vehicles, rooftop solar, heat pump HVAC, and more!

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Show in the adjacent parking lot will feature new cars from Glenview car dealers. Owners of a Rivian, Tesla X, Ford Mustang, Chevy Bolt, Kia Nero, plug-in BMW, among others, will be exhibiting their cars and answering questions.

Greener Glenview co-founder Sheri Latash said about the Fair/EV Show, “We find that many people don’t know how to reduce their carbon imprint. This show gives attendees the opportunity to learn about different options by seeing first-hand the technologies and solutions that can be incorporated into their lives.”
