Glenview Native Habitat Creating Pollinator-Friendly Neighborhoods

Together let's build a healthier, greener, and more pollinator-friendly Glenview!

The Glenview Native Habitat (GNH) project will help Glenview become a healthier, greener, and more pollinator-friendly community. GNH is a project of Greener Glenview and funded by a 2023 Judy Beck Grant.

The Glenview Native Habitat project is working to develop a corridor of native habitat gardens across the village to provide birds and pollinators access to food, water, shelter, and a place to raise their young. The native habitat gardens can be created on individual properties such as homes, HOAs, faith communities, schools, businesses, and parks. Even a balcony or patio can be turned into a native habitat garden!

Glenview Native Habitat is partnering with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to certify each individual native habitat garden. Check out the Greener Glenview website for certification details. Once our community builds a network of certified native habitat gardens, GNH will apply to get Glenview recognized as a Community Wildlife Habitat™. Evanston is the only other community in Illinois to have received this coveted certification.
